 Ecuador
is capturing the imagination of increasing numbers of North American
and European investors and potential expatriates. The latest tabulations
by the major Internet search engines, show that interest in Ecuador
among those considering buying real estate or moving to a foreign
country, is rising at a faster rate than for any other nation in
the world.
The reason why is no mystery. While real estate prices in Mexico,
Costa Rica, Panama and other Central American countries have soared
out of the reach of most investors in the last decade, costs remain
low in Ecuador. Just as important is that fact that Ecuador is a
fabulous place to live and visit. The country offers a rich culture,
the most biodiverse environment in the world and a cost of living
that is less than half of that of the U.S.

tours beginning May, 2007. The first tours will focus on the Ecuadorian
coast and, the most popular region for expats, retirees and investors,
Cuenca and Vilcabamba, in the Andes. In coming months, TransAndean
will expand its tours to include Quito and locations in the northern
Andes.
Dates for the first TransAndean tours are May 7 through May 11
for the Ecuadorian coast, and May 14 through May 19 for Cuenca -
Vilcabamba.
The TransAndean Tours will be small, with a maximum of 12 persons
per tour. Lodgings and meals will be of high but not extravagant
quality. Although we will strive to be as economical as possible,
we also believe that comfort counts.
In addition to showing properties, the tours will include an information
session and hand-outs on the legalities of purchasing real estate
in Ecuador, immigration information, business and political climate.
